ABOUT MOVIECRITIC.CA THE CRITIC My name is Luc-Rock Paquin. I'm 29 years old and, so far, I have seen more than 1500 movies. That's about 90 movies a year ever since I was 12! I'm originally from Montréal, Québec, but I currently live in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada's capital) and although I'm French-Canadian, I've opted to create this site in English only, since most of the movies I see are in English. THE PURPOSE The purpose of this Web site is to share my opinion about movies. I am working towards my goal of becoming a professional movie critic and this site is one of the steps I am taking to get there. THE MOTTO "Movie Reviews and Film Ratings from a Canadian Perspective". THE PHILOSOPHY I enjoy Hollywood movies as well as independent and foreign films, and I know that certain movies have a deep meaning, while others exist only to entertain. I rate movies based on enjoyment and not on quality. I know certain movies are supposed to be really good and might be very well made, but if I didn't enjoy it, why give it a high rating? If you have any questions or comments, drop me a line. I enjoy discussing with other people, even if they don't share my opinion, and I try to answer to every e-mail I receive, but my reply may take a few days (or more!).
